Los Burros Campground Arizona

Left the property and headed into Show Low for a few days to stock up on supplies, and take care of some business. Stayed at Scotts Reservoir for 2 days, where I got to meet Jo, Fred, Lucy, and Kim fellow blog readers, and writers. Nice meeting you all..

My next destination would be Los Burros Campground, which I was told about last year by a fellow van-dweller, so figured it was time to check it out, and it is now my new home for the next 2 weeks.

Its located 8 miles north of McNary AZ on the old Vernon Hwy up at 7900ft. (Here is a link for directions) Some websites recommend no travel trailer over 22ft, so do your due diligence before visiting. (Update a 30ft Travel Trailer, with a fullsize pick up pulled in with no problems)  The Campground has about 12 sites all have picnic tables, and fire rings. There is also plenty of dispersed camping in the area.

Internet, and phone service did not exist until I turned on the cell phone amplifier, it went from no service to two bars. Weather calls for the mid to upper 70's, so Candy is very pleased. Heres a few more pics......

Candy digging her cool morning hike. Only had her leash on so I could guide her around her around the barbwire, and cattle guard. The old Cabin is on the left, and the barn on the right.

Even got outhouses not my first choice but better then nothing, and of course the cost to stay here is free. Good Day!

  3. Awesome place! I don't think my friend will be able to get her 40fter in there but we may take a ride out and let her decide. Candy looks very happy there. I bet Fred wouldn't mind camping there.
    Thanks for the info.

    1. None that I've seen. Candies only had a tick once in Az down in the desert.
